Sour Lake ist eine kleine Erweiterung zum Spiel

Nachdem in Spindletop der erste Ölrausch verflachte, wurde man im näheren Umfeld fündig, so auch in Sour Lake. Dort waren die Sitten allerdings noch rauer als in Beaumont. Diebstahl und Mord waren an der Tagesordnung.

Sour Lake wird neben den Spielplan gelegt. Den dortigen Ölfeldern ist ein Paschwurf zugeordnet, d.h. ein Spieler kann bei Pasch entweder auf dem Spielplan oder bei Sour Lake aktiv werden. Dort wird ganz normal gespielt bis auf folgende Änderungen :

Saloon : In Phase 2, wenn der Spieler, der einen Bohrturm auf den Saloon gesetzt hat, diesen werten will, muß er für jedes Ölplättchen gegen einen Mitspieler würfeln. Hat der Spieler eine höhere Zahl, so erhält er das Plättchen, hat er eine niedrigere, so wird das Plättchen in den Vorrat zurückgelegt. Bei Unentschieden wird wiederholt.
See : Der See birgt Überschwemmungsgefahren für die Bohrtürme. Wer auf dem zentralen Bohrplatz (-1 Platz) baut, der muß neben dem Minuspunkt für jedes Ölplättchen, das auf einem Seegrundstück liegt würfeln. Sobald er einen Pasch würfelt, wird das Plättchen und alle weiteren noch auf Seegrundstücken liegenden zurück in den Vorrat genommen.
